Diary of an Indie Hacker — Entry 3: The idea that would become the product

Day three: the first version of the AI clip intelligence that became the whole company — plus the pile of bugs that came with it.

Today is the entry that matters in retrospect. We built the first version of our AI clip intelligence — the system that watches a long video and decides which moments deserve to exist as clips. Multi-segment stitching, test suite, the works.

Also a pile of bugs, because that's how day three of anything goes. The transcript extraction broke. The segment detection was too rigid. We spent as much time un-breaking as building.

I didn't know it then, but that decision — let the AI pick the moments, don't make the creator scrub a timeline — was the whole company. Everything since has been making that one idea good enough that strangers trust it with their content.

Next entry: quality tuning — the first taste of how hard "good enough" actually is.
