Diary of an Indie Hacker — Entry 6: Two version bumps in one day
Day six: four more caption styles, chunked rendering for long clips, and URL import — or: debt repayment dressed as momentum.

Four more caption styles today, including one modeled after the fast-cut talking-head style that dominates business content. If you've watched a certain genre of intense founder videos, you know the one.
The real work was unglamorous: chunked rendering for long clips. Until today, clips over a minute were a memory gamble. Now they process in pieces — slower, boring, reliable. That shipped as v0.2.0.
Then URL import: paste a link from YouTube or wherever, and we pull the video for you. Sounds trivial. Wasn't — the import has to happen async or the request times out and dies, and then we auto-fill the project title from the video's metadata so you're not staring at "Untitled Project #47." That shipped as v0.3.0.
Two version bumps in one day feels like momentum. It's more honest to call it debt repayment — these were both things the product should have had on day one.
Next entry: the scalability phase begins — the first time we had to think about more than one user at a time.
